Starting a new job is one of the most vital and challenging parts of any professional’s career. We believe that knowing your team members can improve engagement, productivity, and the atmosphere at work. Innovecs values each of its employees as an individual, particularly a newcomer.

In our new rubric, Newcomer of the Month, the company would like to welcome our new members from around the globe and help teammates get to know each other better. For the first interview, we sat down with Gevorg Gasparyan, Full Stack Software Engineer at Innovecs, to talk about his path and background.

— Hi, Gevorg! Where are you from? What is your education? Why did you join Innovecs?

I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. From an early age, I was interested in computer science and engineering. My father was a counting machine engineer, so everything comes from the roots.

I knew that my life would be bound by technical specializations. I graduated from Yerevan State University with a degree in mathematics and computer science and started my path in IT.

I recently heard about Innovecs from my friend when he told me about a good and professional team. So when I got a message from Talent Sourcer and received a job offer, I already knew about this company. I decided to start my journey with Innovecs and give it my best.

— What are your professional and personal ambitions?

— I am a hard worker. When I set new goals, I do my best to exceed my expectations. I want to be the person others look up to.
As for my personal ambitions – I desire to be a good father for my kids, good husband for my wife, and good son to my parents.

— What are your hobbies?

— My hobbies are my job and football. I used to be a football player in Yerevan before university. Now I play for pleasure.

— What is the most important thing in corporate culture?

— As for me, the most important things in corporate culture are communication skills, respect for one another, and a good environment.

Teammates should know that they have someone they can rely on. We should be ready to help each other if someone faces trouble. Although I work remotely, I still feel Innovecs’ corporate culture and how the company cares about me as a newcomer.

— What is the mentality of your country?

— Yerevan is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. The Armenians were the first to accept Christianity, giving it the first branch to become the state religion.

Armenians have a very traditional and hospitable nationality, making the country unique. Every tourist is treated well, and you won’t regret visiting Armenia. Food to try – dolma, khorovats, and manti.

— What are the keys to success in a global company?

— When you work in a multinational team, it’s an outstanding opportunity to experience the cultural uniqueness of other nationalities because every person is the face of their country. So, you will have friends all around the world. For example, if you decide to visit Armenia one day, feel free to ask for my help or advice.

The keys to success in such a global team are communication and management skills.
